The best options for viewing CraveTV are through Xbox One, Android and iOS. Their Apple TV app is a bit rough around the edges.
$7.99 per month. At its inception, CraveTV was offered together with a subscription to Bell television. A CRTC ruling made Rogers, Shaw and Bell offer their streaming services to all of the subscribers. At the time Rogers and Shaw had their own platform called “Shomi”.
CraveTV offers old HBO content and some newer content from Showtime in addition to some of its own exclusive content including LetterKenny and Indian Detective. Some feel that CraveTV’s value does not justify the price that is charged but when you consider that some U.S. based streaming platforms such as Hulu charge extra for HBO content, you are getting a good deal here.
Amazon Prime Video can be viewed on iOS, Xbox 360, Xbox One, Android, Wii U and on most smart TVs. Some of these apps are not yet available in Canada, but according to Amazon they are working on it. Amazon and Apple are not very compatible with each other so there are gaps in some of the applications including the absence of the Amazon Prime Video app for the Cupertino which is the 4th Generation Apple TV. The app is also missing from the Google Chromecast platform.
If you are a subscriber of Amazon Prime, this service is offered to you with no extra cost. If not, it is offered for $79 per year which is extremely reasonable.
There is a lot less content here than is offered on Netflix, but there are a few programs including Transparent, which has won some awards, Man in the High Castle, a history series, and The Grand Tour.
While the service has far less content than competing global platform Netflix, Amazon does have a few standout shows, including the revisionist history series Man in the High Castle, award-winning Transparent and The Grand Tour.
Content from the Amazon Prime library can be downloaded for viewing offline, but all downloads expire after 48 hours. This can be a little bit annoying if you download something and then don’t watch it right away.

You can view Club Illico on most tablets, Android and on iOS.
This service is based in Quebec and run by Vidéotron and offers a free trial for the first month with a fee of $9.99 per month thereafter.

Sony’s Crackle.com, a free, ad-supported service, is probably best known for “Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee.” Jerry Seinfeld has taken “Comedians” and jumped ship to Netflix, where new episodes will air, but the site has a ton of other content. Titles range from classic TV shows (“All in the Family,”, “Dawson’s Creek”, “Mad About You”) to popular older movies (“Ghostbusters,” “Ghost Rider”, “The Tourist”, “Joe Dirt” and “Big Daddy”).
You can access this platform on LG, Samsung and Panasonic smart TVs, Chromecast or Apple TV.
There is no longer a free ad-supported version of this platform, but you can access the premium plan $50.00 per year or $5.00 per month which offers unlimited access to plenty of content and allows you to download programs or movies to a tablet or a smartphone.
Spuul.com is a selection of Bollywood films so watch these to your heart’s content. New, old, classic, they are all here.
Compare These to Netflix
Whatever device you want to use, it is probably Netflix-friendly. Netflix is accessible on Android, iOS, Xbox One, Apple TV, Playstation 4, desktop and all set-top boxes.
Netflix is available for $7.99 per month for a single screen with standard definition. If you want two screens you will pay $9.99 or $11.99 a month for four screens in HD or Ultra HD.
Netflix has plenty of original content to appeal to different tastes. Some of their most popular exclusive content includes “Orange is the New Black” “Marco Polo”, “Bloodline”, “Narcos”, “Stranger Things”, “The Crown” and “House of Cards”.
There are also plenty of series that have been cancelled that people enjoy viewing on Netflix including Gilmore Girls and Madmen. There is also no shortage of popular movies including Doctor Strange, Star Wars, The Place Beyond the Pines and Rogue One.
If you prefer to watch movies offline, Netflix offers that option and the content does not expire although it seems to be limited to a small selection of movies and TV shows.
