Larger SUVs allow you to do it all. They support a busy and active lifestyle, with lots of room for sporting equipment and plenty of friends. They can fit everyone and everything a family needs on a road trip or camping adventure.
Lots of choice is a good thing, but there are over 30 models that offer 7 seats. They all seem to offer the same things, like lots of space and some towing ability.
Here is a list of the best SUVs in Canada that seat at least 7 people (in alphabetical order). To make the list, in addition to 7 seats, each vehicle had to offer good quality, great safety features, and one special thing that sets it apart.
Best 7+ seat SUV comparison

I know nothing about vehicles, which is why I appreciate the “cool feature” and “what sets it apart” sections of this article. I need someone who knows something about SUVs to quickly tell me the ways one SUV stands out in comparison to the others! Thanks Cansumer for doing that!
Hi Anne-Marie , usually people buy an SUV ,for several reasons – starting by the higher driving position , going by the winter capabilities , and finishing by the load and towing capacity…Off course , the style , design, trustable presence in the whole cycle of ownership counts all over the process of determining the final choice ….How long you need to keep it , how you will use it ( towing , extra charge , more passengers, over all budget during the ownership….The questions are as usual , more than the answers ! The cars ( SUV-s), that cover all those criteria are not so much …Toyota gives the feeling of trustable presence , Subaru is easy to drive , but not cheep for maintenance , GM has a good average presence with few models , but none of them could fight with the best in class when it’s a question to go hunting or going real offroad ,so first of all check with yourself , which of the criteria are more relevant and then , it will be much easier to answer your questions . The durable execution gives good chances to keep it long time ( the value takes it over the price …) . When you have all those answers – you’re done ! Good luck and never hesitate to ask all those questions , when you meet a sales manager ( with a copy of my letter in hand )….The only colour to avoid is the white – loses fast the quality , having in mind , that it’s between the hardest to resell)
Excellent article. Well written, thorough and engaging. Made me want to buy an SUV even though I don’t need one and I don’t know how to drive. 11/10
Great article! Very informative and well-written!
